having a relaxing time so far, enjoying remembering little snippets of things from when i lived here: noises, smells, corners, buildings, the people, the sunsets and so on.

i am uploading a few images every day here, and i’ll probably upload all the other ones there when i get home.

during my first year or so of college i got scarily obsessed by buildings using a certain type of brick (quoin closer if i remember correctly) i couldnt do anything but look for the use of it in all the old buildings back in dublin. thankfully that phase passed, but now everywhere i got here in new york i instead get obsessed by the amount of ipods here. its crazy.

timely enough the economist has a survey of new york in the current edition. here is the last paragraph:

new front page design. it took my design consultants months of market research and my crack team of design coders several hundred man hours of work to put it altogether. a big bualadh bos to all involved.

i changed the commenting system on here from haloscan to bloggers own in built one. they have improved their system a lot.

i got a job (2 days a week), i start in a few weeks after i get back from holidays.

my phone is dying. dying dying dying. it stops when i want to sms, shuts down when i need it to show my sms ticket to the train inspector and basically having the nokia equivilant of the microsoft blue screen of death. so i am on the look out for a new one. with a radio would be nice, a camera would be cool but not essential (i carry my digicam with me all the time anyhoo) and also a nice memory card storage thingy so i can listen to mp3s (and i dont have to buy a seperate mp3 player). anyone know when the 3230 is coming out?

i check my web logs every few days to see whats going on, who is linking to my site and so on. its the needy part of me. anyway, over the last month or so ive seen new people linking to me, not the nice kind but more the spam kind for some reason. i have no idea why. but out of the 468 sites that linked to me so far this month about 80% are stupidily named sites like the ones in the image above. other ones that i was able to block a few weeks back involved learning how to play various types of card games. strange world we live in.
