not sleeping well at the moment, ical and google calendar and my phone all syncronise fine enough but my brain doesnt seem to take notice of the allotted times for doing this and that.
i got a tram yesterday through the city, spent 20ish minutes listening to irish radio streaming over 3g to my phone. it was utterly bizarre to listen to derek mooney talk about frog spawn in blackrock, county dublin whilst i was sitting in the 3b in hakaniemi.
watched a really nice danish movie last week, “voksne mennesker“, along with the haunting lars von trier mini series “riget“. currently reading the new monocle magazine, a backlog of finnish ones and about a dozen other ones purchased over the last few months and promptly ignored. brain ei toimi.
worst thing about this time of year is that the (eugh) “irish blogosphere” turns into a “please vote for me in the irish blog awards” free for all. its everywhere.
(worst thing = its annoyed me for a grand total of about 7 minutes over the last month or two.)

flying home yesterday from copenhagen. more pictures here.
i started to use an old digicam back in 2005 to record some video clips when on holidays in new york. i recorded them for a friend who hadnt been to nyc, erm and over the two years since ive still not shown them to him.
with the arrival of my new phone a few weeks back i started to record some random clips onto it. i was looking for somewhere to post the videos.
i put some of the old ones onto youtube a few months back, but youtube doesnt do much for me, same with google video. instead ive been using vimeo - a smaller more community based one. go view them here.

the seas have frozen, the islands are covered white with snow and are accessible from the land. people walk routes that dont exist for nine months of the year, often times standing and closing their eyes as the face the sun to take in as much warmth as they can. even on days when its -15celcius there is some heat from the sun.
