on the other hand irishelection.com is using twitter to provide their own sms update service - seems to be going well - 60ish followers (as of now its only been updated once in about an hour or so - an eternity in the world of election countings). it did take some hunting around on the irishelection.com site to get the actual link (i had to follow three pages of stuff like “go to our twitter page” to actually get to the link for the twitter link”). this service is free for the user.

insanely hyper in anticipation of the irish election count tomorrow. voting is today. ireland uses proportional representation system - meaning that one votes in order of preference - 1 for your most favourite and 2 for second favourite and so on. it means that after the first count (of most no1s) things always get interesting - epically so in irelands coalition government system. i imagine i will get to sleep at about 0500 on saturday morning depending on the way its all going. hurrah!

hello may, hello world, hello eurovision in helsinki. currently sitting on the floor waiting to go out. the day has been long and strange - a trip to the airport to pay for my summer holiday tickets left me in a strange mood. the other day i deleted about 40% of the feeds i subscribe to in bloglines - gone forever thank god. i remember saying to myself in summer 2004 that i was sick of signing up for things - flickr was signed up for during this period, i chose a username that id never used before as it wasnt meant to be a site i was gonna use too much. look at me now (more of this in a few weeks). so now ive signed up to a billion and one sites, services, blogging this and uploading that and i know i’ll never use 90% of them. i cling onto them for some strange reason - perhaps i just need to go through the ones i never use and delete the accounts. for another day perhaps.

i sit with my back to a window but i can see that some friends are walking towards my direction. the internet tells all.
