this is fantastic. (..erm.. click on the picture for elftor comic strips...)
im not normally a console game person (despite last years purchase of a dreamcast). but on one of the many tv shows here about computer games they showed one called "metroid prime". its for the gamecube and to be honest i want it. it got 99%.

pivi found this in the helsingisanomat's friday entertainment section " nyt " and it allows you to enter a start point and destination, then it gives you routes by tram/walking/bus etc all here in helsinki. the site is here
hmm.. how do i get this archive thing working.......
yay.. almost have it.
just got some programme off the internet that allows me to download an entire website.. so im using it to get this site: fantasyjackpalance.com. its a website with thousands of pictures of dublin, but its slightly hard to get your way around, you have to view images one at a time and there is no "next" script thingy in it. so this programme is helping me to get them with out going to the site. erm. anyway. check out that site, its really good.
got this from the irish film centre in dublin. might call in there when i go home. im looking for a film called "yi yi" and i will see if i can get it there. its a taiwanese film and i just have a desire to see it. just a little film about a family in taipei. i saw it in the ifc a few years ago and i wanna see it again.
going here tonight. sauna! hurray.
here is another design from united architects. these pictures give two fantastic views.

this is an idea for the replacement for the world trade centre. it is a design of a skyscraper that gaud designed. it was for somewhere in lower manhattan but they might use the design instead over at the wtc site.
the story is here on the bbc news website.
a spike webcam here
some really nice pictures over on this site. its the site of photographer isabelle bonjean (who did some of the pictures for a part of the oxo cook book.
its not very often a cook book looks cool, but oxo have launched one (for charity i think): the oxo cook book, also here.

habitat are selling a really cool clock for 25, yum. designed by jonas damon apparently.
hmm, the one in gq looked slightly cooler
atlas gallery is a gallery of photography in london... they have some pretty cool exhibitions on there at the moment.
the pic below is from the hurley exhibition. the series of pictures was taken by a frank hurley on the shackleton expidition to antartica around ww1.
just spent an hour or so in waynes coffee, as per usual i had a choclate muffin. best 3euros ever. delicious. was reading gq magazine and found loads of cool things in there. im off now to look for them online, will post them here in a few minutes.
i wasnt online yesterday much.
we just got back from the library. we walked (most of the way) there. got loads of books and cdroms and videos and stuff. when our local library re opens in a few weeks im gonna get my library card and let the good times roll.
back now, having food: pyttipannu time. hurray. patatoes, sausages (!) and onion. the ingredients in order of my preference. hurray.
then choclate.
damn, my eircom email addy got onto some spam lists in the last week. so i used to get one spam amonth over the last 3 years, now i get 10 a day. :-( boo.
back again, got far too much sleep last night. about 12 hours. going for a big walk to tlo library today, and later going to a house warming party... hurray.
okay, found this earlier.. a little bit cheesy but it does give the weather here in helsinki (or anywhere else in the world)
samurai jack update: i now have about 8 episodes downloaded. 6 of which downloaded this morning/afternoon. hurray. i tried dc++ again after being stumped by it last time.. the interface is still a little akward. but seems to do the job nicely. anyway. getting late. bed time. alarm set for 0650

i spent the evening watching the movies kyri made of the new years celebrations. then we watched 5 episodes of the office. then i watched some ray liotta movie. i spend my evenings in front of a tv or a computer screen.
tomorrow will be spent doing the following:
tiding my socks and stuff
looking for those two damned videos i shot over 6 weeks ago!!! i took some movies of helsinki for the peeps back home. but i went and hid the videos in the flat somewhere "so i wouldnt loose or break them over new years" and now.. typically.. i cant find them. doh.

finnish tv listings!
front cover of the irish times today
just replying to some emails from home.. ross and beatriz. dara and jody emailed me pics and movies of the spike.. dara had a little movie and jody had a pic looking back up henry street towards capel street, and all you could see was people looking up. it looked amazing.
kazaa is taking forever to download any samurai jack cartoons. its been about 6 days now and ive only downloaded 2 episodes. boo. i'll have a look for some videos in shops when i go home in a few weeks. they might have em cheap and not dubbed/subtitled in finnish/swedish. oh yeah, not 6 days continiousily, more about 5 hrs a day. hmm..
crap.. the first few posts make it look like ive gone for a "black and white" only policy. damn.. colour will be coming soon.

tm on radio helsinki, 95,2fm
this is the best radio station ive ever heard. there is a stream link over on the right hand side.
i love fazers choclate. and from what ive been told the granddaughter of the first fazer has used her money etc to set up this radio station. i dont think it has any music policy. except play cool tunes. thats it. amazing. so choclate gives me radio. hurray.
on christmas day, we were coming back from pivi's house, and they had some bizarre spoken word thing with music and sounds in the background. it was some irish-ish fella who was an artist in nyc. i dont know who he was. i should have looked around. hmm...
the spike!
its finally finished. i really really cant wait to see it when i get home in a few weeks. i will stand under it, maybe hug it a little and then sign "dw" on it and leg it.
here is a really bad picture of it... but still gives it some scale.
right, spent ages messing with the template. semi happy ish now. although it does look sorta crap. and boring. in the way i make all my webpages look. anyway. tonight is not for a whole redesign of the "dw experience". thats for another day. nighty night
here is what i should have read months and months ago
