mac and pc

everything ive done over the last few years has been on a pc. college, outside of college, work, outside of work. all pc. all windows, all the time. everyone around me used windows based pcs too.

my mum is a mac convert, having at least one for the last ten years or so. i only used them occasionaly for checking email and found them interesting but always very akward to find my way around. the one button mouse and the apple button confued me and led me to several silly mistakes.

now i am using macs in college, and i have grown to be incredibly impressed by them. i was always impressed by the astetics of them all, i am very shallow after all. but now i have grown more fond of the operating system and its little quirks that speed things up, allow things to be completed quicker and with less fuss. the hardest part is using the same programmes on two different platforms. archicad and photoshop on windows and mac computers. the windows programmes using the ctrl button a lot and the mac ones using the apple key a lot, they arent in the same position on the keyboards, so i spend lots of time pressing ctrl on the mac (for copy / paste etc.) but nothing happens, then i go home and continue a drawing and find myself pressing the alt button on the pc a lot. in time i will get better.
