the other night on telly there was a once off special of “the late late show” in which they looked back at some of the comedy guests over the shows forty year history. one of the bits was on american irish comedian des bishop – he was dressed in a cork gaelic jersey and had a “in the future” type sketch about some day in 2030 (i think) the fella who would raise aloft the mccarthy cup would be a black man.

on television earlier today was a minor (aged 13ish) school gaelic football match – at least two of the fellas on one of the teams are black. future is well on its way. (ignore the hurling/football mix up there)
